I think part of the success of a children's poem has to be the rhythm. Here are two authors of children's poems that I liked as a child (lo these many years ago). I'm not a huge Kennedy fan and I wouldn't buy it just because it said 'Kennedy,' but it does have a lot of good poems. One good book of children's poems that I came across recently is one edited by Caroline Kennedy. If a poem is less than 70 years old, please quote only the title and a couple of lines, with a link to a book containing it if possible.
